William Demarest Johnson is the founder of RenewyouAsia and The Demarest Clinic, a brand that helps people live their best life with the most advanced regenerative therapy. William Johnson is the youngest son of Charlie Johnson, the multibillionaire founder and majority shareholder of Franklin Templeton Mutual Funds, and San Francisco Giants’ owner.
After graduating from UC Berkley with a BA in History, Mr Johnson, better known as “Bill,“ followed the family legacy and began working on Wallstreet, becoming a licensed stockbroker for Dean Witter Reynolds excelling within three years to Vice President status. Wanting to gain further investment experience, Mr Johnson joined Oppenheimer and Cantor Fitzgerald as an institutional trader. Upon completing a 3,7 and 24 professional licensing series, he established his retail brokerage under the Investment Center Franchise. After a twenty-five-year successful career as a retail broker, Mr Johnson shifted gears and started producing movies.
Mr Johnson, the founder and chairman of Demarest Films, produced over 20 feature films. Some of his biggest production credits are Hacksaw Ridge and The Night Manager. With 6 academy award nominations, six Golden Globes, and an Emmy nomination, Mr Johnson retired from producing films, becoming a full–time Venture Capitalist. Under the Demarest Media banner, he made an opportunistic early investment in 15 successful startups that remain profitable today; such notable companies are Augury, Halo Defense Systems, House Canary, and Niantic Games. He was also an early believer in Crypto Currency with investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as the CryptoCurrency Partners II LP.
